What to Have Ready

To make the most of your first call, it helps to have a few things handy: any contract, invoice, or promissory note that documents the debt; a record of payments made and the current balance; and the debtor's full name or business name. If a judgment has already been entered, the date and amount of the judgment are useful as well.
